Progress Toward Circular Packaging
At Ahlife®, we are committed to more responsible packaging solutions that reflect our sustainability values. We design our packaging to minimise waste and prioritise more sustainable materials where possible, while continuing to improve our approach over time as better options become available.
For us, packaging is part of the product experience and an extension of our responsibility to customers and the environment. We balance sustainability goals with product protection and delivery reliability so your order arrives safely and in good condition.
We primarily use POLLAST!C™ mailers made from 100% Ocean Bound Plastic, recovered from coastal communities in Southeast Asia. By repurposing Ocean Bound Plastic, this packaging approach helps reduce the risk of plastic entering the ocean, supports local recovery efforts, and contributes to community impact through collection and recovery systems.
Our mailers are designed to be recycled with soft plastics where collection programs are available. Recycling and soft plastic collection options vary by country, region, and local council or provider, so we encourage customers to check local guidance before disposal. Where possible, we encourage customers to reuse packaging first, then recycle it according to local guidance.
We are committed to improving our impact over time. We aim to use lower impact packaging where possible, and where available, we may apply carbon offsetting through partner programs depending on region, order type, and shipping method.
Our packaging partner also supports carbon footprint reduction measures and offsetting initiatives associated with its packaging programs.
Packaging materials, formats, and suppliers may change over time as availability, technology, and lower impact options evolve. Not all orders will use the same packaging format, and packaging may differ depending on the fulfilment location and product type.
What Is Ocean Bound Plastic?
Ocean Bound Plastic refers to plastic waste that is at high risk of entering the ocean. To be certified as Ocean Bound Plastic, the material generally must meet key criteria such as:
• It is abandoned or improperly discarded, meaning it has been, or would likely be, left in the environment without recovery.
• It is collected from areas with limited formal waste management infrastructure, where collection, disposal, or recycling systems may be limited.
• It is located within 50 kilometres of a coastline, where the risk of plastic reaching the ocean is higher without intervention.
By recovering and repurposing Ocean Bound Plastic, we help support efforts to prevent plastic pollution before it reaches the ocean, while also supporting coastal communities involved in collection and recovery.
Packaging and Disposal Guidance
Packaging disposal options vary by location. Please check your local recycling and soft plastic collection guidance before disposing of packaging. Where possible, we encourage reuse before recycling.
Transparency and Ongoing Improvements
We believe progress matters, and we are committed to improving our packaging decisions over time with transparency and care.
We continue reviewing our packaging choices as materials, infrastructure, and fulfilment options evolve. Our goal is to make practical improvements over time while maintaining reliable delivery and product protection.
