Progress Toward Circular Packaging
At Ahlife®, we take a considered approach to packaging, choosing solutions that help reduce unnecessary waste and make greater use of recycled materials where possible. As better options become available, we will continue to review and refine the packaging choices behind our orders.
For us, packaging is part of the product experience and an extension of our responsibility to customers and the environment. We balance more responsible choices with product protection and delivery reliability, so your order arrives safely and in good condition.
We primarily use POLLAST!C™ mailers made from 100 percent Ocean Bound Plastic rescued from coastal communities throughout Southeast Asia, where this waste is at greater risk of entering the environment and reaching the ocean. By repurposing Ocean Bound Plastic, we support cleaner coastlines and oceans, strengthen local waste recovery efforts, and contribute to meaningful community impact.
Our packaging partner also reports that independent life cycle analysis has found POLLAST!C™ mailers to have a significantly lower CO₂ footprint than traditional plastic mailers. This gives us another reason to favour materials that make use of existing waste rather than relying solely on newly produced resources.
What Is Ocean Bound Plastic?
Ocean Bound Plastic refers to plastic waste that is at high risk of entering the ocean. To be certified as Ocean Bound Plastic, the material generally must meet key criteria such as:
• It is abandoned or improperly discarded, meaning it has been, or would likely be, left in the environment without recovery.
• It is collected from areas with limited formal waste management infrastructure, where collection, disposal, or recycling systems may be limited.
• It is located within 50 kilometres of a coastline, where the risk of plastic reaching the ocean is higher without intervention.
By recovering and repurposing Ocean Bound Plastic, we help support efforts to prevent plastic pollution before it reaches the ocean, while supporting coastal communities involved in collection and recovery.
Reuse First, Recycle Where Possible
Our POLLAST!C™ mailers are designed to be reused and, where suitable collection programs exist, recycled with soft plastics. As recycling options vary between countries, regions, and local providers, we encourage you to check the guidance available in your area.
Where possible, we encourage you to reuse the packaging before recycling it at the end of its useful life. Keeping materials in use for longer can help reduce unnecessary waste and make more considered use of existing resources.

We recognise that no packaging solution is without impact. Our aim is not to present packaging as perfect, but to make more informed choices as materials, technology, recycling infrastructure, and fulfilment options evolve. We believe progress matters, and we are committed to improving our packaging decisions over time with transparency and care.
Packaging formats may vary depending on the product, fulfilment location, and availability, and not every Ahlife® order will necessarily arrive in the same packaging. We will continue reviewing the materials and solutions available to us while balancing environmental considerations with the protection and reliability each order requires.
