Sustainability
General sustainability statement
Modern fashion has been shaped by speed and overproduction, driving high resource use and unnecessary waste. Globally, around 92 million tonnes of textile waste are generated each year, while clothing production has doubled since 2000 and garment use has shortened over time. The sector is linked to an estimated 2 to 8 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions and substantial water use, often cited at around 93 billion cubic metres annually. Beyond environmental impact, the industry loses more than 500 billion US dollars each year because clothing is worn less and rarely recycled, showing why circular and longevity led design matters.
Ahlife® is committed to sustainability and continuous improvement, refining our practices over time while delivering high quality products. We consider our materials carefully and work closely with our production partners to reduce waste, minimise natural resource use, and avoid unnecessary harmful chemicals and synthetic materials wherever possible.
By partnering with the right fulfilment suppliers, Ahlife® produces items only when ordered, helping reduce waste linked to overproduction and excess stock. We also prioritise modern materials and production methods, including printing and embroidery where applicable, to help reduce wastewater and energy use compared to more conventional approaches.
