Sustainability
The fashion and textiles sector continues to place growing pressure on resources and waste systems. Global fibre production reached approximately 132 million tonnes in 2024, more than double the level recorded in 2000. Recycled fibres represented only 7.6% of global production, with less than 1% coming from recycled pre consumer and post consumer textiles. At the same time, an estimated 92 million tonnes of textile waste are generated globally each year, while the sector is estimated to account for 2 to 8% of global greenhouse gas emissions.
At Ahlife®, our approach to sustainability is built on considered choices and continuous improvement. We consider materials, sourcing, production methods, packaging, shipping, and longevity, with a focus on natural fibres and lower impact options.
Most of our products are produced on demand, helping keep production more closely aligned with actual orders and reducing the risk of unnecessary overproduction and excess stock. We continue to review the choices behind our products and work with our production partners to improve where we can.
