Methods & Materials Choices
Our methods and materials are selected with intention, with quality, longevity, and responsible practices in mind. We consider the garment, fibre composition, production method, and finish behind each piece, while continuing to explore natural fibres and lower impact options as our range evolves.
We use three main methods to apply our designs, selected according to the garment, artwork, and finish required. Embroidery is used across a significant portion of our range and remains a preferred option for its durability and lasting finish. Where printing is better suited, direct to garment printing allows for detailed results with a soft feel, while direct to film printing provides a versatile option for selected garments and artwork.
For direct to garment printing, our production partners use Kornit systems that apply water based inks directly to the fabric. This method produces detailed, flexible prints while supporting efficient on demand production. The technology is designed to reduce water and energy use compared with many conventional textile printing processes. The inks are also vegan and OEKO-TEX® certified, meeting strict requirements for textile chemical safety and environmental performance.
For direct to film printing, designs are printed onto a specialised transfer film using water based pigment inks before being transferred to the garment using heat. This method works across a wider variety of fabrics and provides another option where the artwork, garment composition, or desired finish makes it more suitable than direct to garment printing.
